If you are interested, consider joining up with us (and others) in a
grass roots "fire Bettman" movement. We'd also very much like to have
your comments posted on our newly begun Forum.

We are trying to organize all of the anti-Bettman movements in to one
BIG movement. With a little luck and participation we can go a long way.

Cheers!

Heh.

Well alright then!

This is exactly the sort of feedback we would like on our forum at
http://www.firebettman.org

If you feel that Goodenow and the NHLPA are the problem, please post and
let us know on our forum. Our whole site exists to bring people together
in an exchange of opinions!

Cheers

If Goodenow got fired before the start of next year, and the new guy
(assuming it won't be Saskin) can't bring the players to a deal with the
owners, then maybe I'd consider this movement.

It may not seem like it, what with the cancellation of the season and
all, but what Bettman is doing is in the best interests of the league.
Unfortunately a cancelled season won't do as much damage as if the
league caved in and accepted a crappy deal, or continued to play under
the old deal. Many teams have said that they can compete if there is
some form of linkage or a stiff salary cap, and they are willing to sit
out a season or two to get that deal, but they would have to consider
selling, moving or ceasing operations if they don't get that.

yup, Personally I'm seeing Goodenough and his henchmen as the don't budge,
unreasonable, spoil the party, here but if theres another dance partner and
the tango's still lookin sad then we got wallflowers on all ends.

Agreed. That said the process thus far has lacked imagination, creativity
and attempts to effect closure on both parts. I will say its in the NHL's
best interests as all they had to do was not give in and now they will have
other options... impasse, replacements, total union breaking, it just gets
worse for NHLPA from here. What on earth are they thinking? 42M cap will
look like the promised land by next year when they have worse or no options.
Its going to get interesting.

ps one of the things that I've been thinking lately is that no side has been
able to see forest for the trees very much and hilite the big picture for
the other side. Its still very possible that Bettman gets the big W out of
all this and its clear that Goodenow has lost one way or the other but if
the NHL doesn't get the Impasse ruling the legacy on both of these guys is
that they wrecked the NHL. A draw ends up with job suicide for both. Hard
to see either one having improved their employability on these results then
again the business world does seem to reward rat bastards ;-)
